Food Donation

Welcome to Apple Seeds’ Food Donation program, a vital initiative aimed at making a lasting impact on the nutritional well-being of children in Northwest Arkansas who face limited access to healthy produce. Through partnerships with schools, school pantries, and partner organizations, we provide fresh produce complemented by relevant recipes and nutrition education resources.

At the Apple Seeds Teaching Farm, we donate over 10,000 pounds of high-quality produce annually. In response to the pandemic, we have expanded our efforts to increase food production and support families in need. Our surplus produce, harvested directly from the teaching farm, is carefully packaged and distributed to food-insecure youth in Northwest Arkansas.

This unique combination of fresh produce and educational resources empowers children and their families to make informed choices about their diet. By fostering familiarity with fruits and vegetables, we inspire healthier eating habits and contribute to the overall well-being of the community.

What are partners saying about our Food Donation Program?

“We all have to eat to survive, and we all should have the right to consume fresh food to fuel our bodies and contribute to our health and success.  Apple Seeds is doing that [through the Food Donation program] for thousands of kids and families in our area every year - and for that, I am thankful!
