FARM VOLUNTEERS

Farm volunteers enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Apple Seeds Teaching Farm while engaging in a variety of hands-on garden tasks. Depending on the season, volunteers may help with planting seeds, weeding garden beds, and maintaining pathways. They might also assist with composting, mulching, or prepping garden beds for new plantings. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just eager to learn, farm volunteering offers a rewarding way to connect with nature, support our mission, and contribute to a thriving educational farm environment.

FOOD DONATION VOLUNTEERS

Food Donation volunteers are the driving force behind our Food Donation program. Each week, individuals or groups assist us in harvesting, washing, and packing hundreds of pounds of produce that is delivered to our school and community partners. Shifts are typically 3-4 hours long. Shifts usually occur in the mornings but can be adjusted due to weather and needs.

EVENT VOLUNTEERS

The Teaching Farm is home to special community events and fundraisers throughout the year, while also offering private rentals. As an event volunteer, you play a crucial role in the success of our fundraising dinners and workshops. Join our friendly and engaging team, where you'll meet fascinating individuals, enjoy the farm ambiance, and savor delectable cuisine. Your tasks may involve setting up tables and chairs, assisting with kitchen preparations, arranging beautiful flowers for the tables, serving guests, and participating in post-event cleanup. Event shifts typically last 4-5 hours, occurring in the late afternoon or evening, and occasionally during daytime hours.

GROUP VOLUNTEERS

Group volunteer events are custom-tailored to meet the specific needs of each organization, taking into account our programming and production schedules. These valuable opportunities are open to a range of participants, including corporations, college organizations, civic groups, and more.

To ensure a successful and well-coordinated event, we kindly request a minimum notice period of two weeks when scheduling group volunteer activities. This allows us ample time to make the necessary arrangements and ensure a meaningful and impactful experience for all involved.

CENTRAL ARKANSAS VOLUNTEERS

Volunteering in Central Arkansas with our field trip programs is a rewarding way to inspire young minds through hands-on gardening and cooking experiences. Volunteers play a key role in guiding students as they explore the garden, plant seeds, harvest fresh vegetables, and create nutritious snacks. These interactive activities help children develop a deeper appreciation for healthy food and where it comes from. To ensure the best experience for both students and volunteers, we ask for a consistent commitment throughout the season.
