On Saturday, April 13th, from 9 to noon, Apple Seeds' own Paul Deer will lead a free workshop on garden foundations at the Apple Seeds Teaching Farm. This workshop is all about how to make gardening approachable and enjoyable, and will include tips for people looking to start a garden, such as choosing the site for your garden, creating beds, starting seeds, watering, and weed management. Paul will also cover the basics of sheet mulching, simple soil care, recommended beginning plants, and managing Bermuda Grass.

In short, Paul will share foundational knowledge to growing plants that is simple, practical, and inspiring. 

While the workshops are free, registration is required as attendance is capped to provide an quality experience for attendees. 

About Paul Deer: Paul Deer serves as Apple Seeds' Farm Manager. He came to Apple Seeds after spending seasons at Dripping Springs Garden and completing the Center for Arkansas Food and Farming (CAFF) apprenticeship program.

Tickets to Workshop

Parking is available in the Gulley Park parking lot off of Old Wire Road. From there it's a short walk north to the gates of the Apple Seeds Teaching Farm. For drop-offs only, the address is 2648 N. Old Wire Road. Please note that there is no parking available in the driveway.
