SOLD OUT: Kitchen Table Dinner with Chef Luis Mayorga: Tex-Mex Passed Down through the Generations!

$130.00

Help us kick off 2024's Kitchen Table Dinner Series in style on Saturday, January 27th, with the culinary team from Casa Alejo!

Join us at Apple Seeds for a vibrant culinary journey, skillfully merging the best of Tex-Mex cuisine with the rich tapestry of a taqueria lifestyle.  The Mayorga family is passionate about creating an experience as inviting and flavorful as a cherished family dinner, and will share their treasured recipes -- dishes infused with love, warmth, and the bonds of kinship.

Featured Chef - Chef Luis Mayorga, along with Julio Gomez and extended family, have together created Casa Alejo in Springdale, AR, which is named after their beloved grandfather and offers an authentic and unforgettable Mexican dining experience.

Being raised in a large family operating multiple restaurants, Luis was inspired to study cooking at Le Cordon Bleu in Orlando, FL. Though he spent years learning methods and tastes from professionals, it was his mother's kitchen that inspired him most. Growing up, he would watch her spend hours and sometimes days in the kitchen in preparation for a family meal. It was her long labor of blending spices, layering a taste profile, and slow intentional cooking process that lent the most impact to his own cooking. After perfecting each element to be just right and taste 'exactly like Mom's' , it's plated with beauty and creativity allowing your eyes to sample the richness of family before tasting it's heart.

About the Kitchen Table Dinner Series --  Born out of a desire to build a community around great food, Apple Seeds' Kitchen Table Dinner series is designed to recreate the feeling of gathering around a dear friend's table.  These dinners aim to bridge the gap often felt between the chef and diners in a typical dining environment, thereby creating a deeper connection to the food on the plate.  Through intentional procurement of local, seasonal ingredients, the transparent preparation of the meal, and storytelling by the chef, each plate is transformed from food into an unforgettable dining experience.
